WAAG vs. The Competition Precision Design WAAG: WAAG was the first to follow each vehicle's contours, and WAAG remains the leader in grille guard design. Each grille guard is crafted to complement each vehicle's distinctive features. Brand X: Competitive brands consistently ignore vehicle lines and contours. The end results are grille guards that are boxy and hide the vehicle's distinctive styling cues. They often look as if they were designed for another model. No Cutting or Drilling WAAG: Our mounts are customized to eliminate the need to do any vehicle modifications. Brand X: Competitive grille guards consistently require cutting, drilling, and other vehicle modifications. Such mounts are difficult to install and can void vehicle manufacturer warranties. Strongest Mounting System WAAG: WAAG grille guards are frame mounted. Our mounting systems vary, however, to eliminate the need for vehicle modifications and to preserve ground clearance. Among WAAG's innovative mounting systems: Elevated frame mounts: This application utilizes upper and lower frame mounts that extend through the mouth of the bumper and grille rather than going under or cutting through bumper valance. Examples of this mounting system include Explorer, Expedition and Navigator. Tubular frame mounts: WAAG also is the first and only manufacturer to utilize tubular frame mounts to preserve ground clearance and eliminate cutting into lower valance. This mount is used on the Mercedes M-Class, Chevrolet Blazer, Lexus RX300, 99.5 Nissan Pathfinder and Toyota Rav4. Brand X: Competitive brands usually mount to the frame, but they frequently have brackets that require drilling into the bumper. These applications are convenient for the manufacturer but certainly not the installer. Easy to Install WAAG: All WAAG brackets are designed for ease of installation and maximum strength. Typical installation time is approximately 30 minutes. Brand X: Competitive brands often are difficult installations that require special tools, drills, and saws. Typical installation time is consistently an hour – or more. One Guard Fits All Models WAAG: Our grille guards fit all models including 4x4 AND 2x4s as well as standard, off-road, and luxury (limited) packages. Brand X: Competitive brands often fit one or the other, usually the 4x4. Existing Tow Hooks WAAG: Hooks are retained with WAAG grille guard applications. Brand X: Competitive brands often require discarding tow hooks, therefore denying the vehicle an added feature, both visually and functionally. UPS-able Units (three-piece welded) WAAG: Are packaged as three fully assembled pieces and take ONLY five minutes more to install than our one-piece units. Brand X: Competitive brands offer modular units that ship in multiple pieces and are completely unassembled. These units take more than 30 minutes to assemble –and then you still have to install it!
